I'M NOT DEAD.....YET

So The final exam did not kill me, and I guess that means I get to keep posting really bad pieces of writing. Since it is now summer I have absoluty no time to post anything, as of tonight I am going on a month long trip to Alberta, the day I get back from that trip I get about 9 hours to rest up before I am out in the Canadian wilderness for another three weeks. So I will post when I get the chance, probably not soon though. I might get eaten by a moose so don't get your hopes up.

The Big Bad Creative Writing Exam

For the past few weeks my English class has been a flurry of activity. Prepping for the end of the year exam. Our subject is; Relationships. Though it is not for a lack of me trying, I have yet to come up with the self narrative that I must write. I have gone over possible stories in my head and yet none seem to be adequate. I am a perfectionist which is why I often end up screaming at the top of my lungs in frustration, whenever I must post on this site. This Exam has been the subject of m nightmares for nearly three weeks, I am running low on steam, and sanity.  I never really sleep to begin with so this has been very detrimental to my health, so if I never post to this site again it is because I am lying dead of a heart attack somewhere. Hopefully this wont be my last post, goodbye.

Rowan Max Steele Scene 1 English assignment

Rowan stood behind the bar counter, it's wood faded and stained from years of drinks being spilt. The hazy rays of sunlight were starting to peak over the horizon through the window to her left. Dust motes swirled around, capturing her attention momentarily. This is what she had worked so long and hard for, a job as a bartender in some half rotted dive bar in the outskirts of Portland. The skies above Maine, usually cloudy were clear, the odd fluffy one straining across the lavender and orange colored sky. Sighing she turned back towards the wall finishing up inventory. This wasn't the life she had wanted, but rather this was the life she had been thrust into. Her life before had been wild and dangerous, but the danger was what had attracted her at first. Ever the thrill seeker she had signed up for a life of violence, she had convinced herself that it was only so she could pay for the rest of her schooling. But that was a lie, she had done it thinking it would be great, that the glory would wrap her in some golden light, that she would finally stop being so restless. But the afterglow had been dark, the color of raw agony. She had been reckless and had made so many mistakes, she could have lost her life so many times, but she hadn't, someone else had paid the price in her place. But she did what she was trained to do, what she had been doing since she was a small child, she moved on. She felt the guiilt coil in her stomach, but she forced it down, this is her life now. Taking a deep breath Rowan stood up straight, hearing the chime at the door signalling a new customer she internally tensed up. Customers don't often come in at this time, too early for most, too late for others. Feeling the guilt in her stomach replace itself with suspicion she puts a genuine looking smile on her face. She listens as the footsteps near the bar, three distinctly different strides, all confident, and yet one seeming more aggressive than the others. The footfalls stop behind her, turning around it is all she can do to keep the sudden surprise, anger, and guilt from flitting across her face. It was inevitable that they would come for her, they rarely let people with the kind of information she has walk free and unsupervised.

Both the director and co-directer stood on either side of Devon Kessler. Both of them intimidating in their own ways. Nathan Bauer standing at roughly 6'4 with a body built like a brick house, the man was an impressive sight. He could kill a man in an instant for just looking at him the wrong way, but beneath the deadly exterior, is an abundant well of patience that would put a saint to shame. Women who walk past him on the street instinctively cross to the other side gripping onto their purses in fear and anxiety.  He is imposing and yet what people don't realize is that he is kind. Torri is like a daughter to him, she is the only one who can make him smile. Torri Eastwood is a small Indian-american woman with big innocent brown eyes and a guileless smile. But that is a lie that all to many fall for, she can beat trained killers in hand to hand combat with ease. She is a fierce fighter and her eyes blaze with an intensity that contradicts her small stature. She is swift and confident and her sweet ambrosia laughter melts the hearts of many. Men fall for her all the time but she is married to her job, and to her duty.  Out of the whole agency Nathan and Torri make the best team, they are so in tune with one another that they rarely need to speak to convey their ideas and thoughts. And right now the wonder duo has dragged me to some cheap dive bar in the outskirts of Portland so I can meet my new partner. Sighing I push my aviators up the bridge of my currently broken nose, before stuffing them into my back pockets. Recruiting newbies has got to be my least favorite thing to do. Following behind Torri and Nathan I scan the local trash heap. Off the side of a major highway this place is notorious for it's bloody biker brawls. A man is behind the bar, not very tall with a buzz cut, his back is facing us. This better not be my new partner. Growling with impatience he stalks towards the bar ready to get things over with as quickly as possible. As the man turns around Devon pulls up short. A slender woman with buzzed hair and the bluest eyes he had ever seen, it took all he had not to stare. Her mouth formed a brilliant smile showing off pretty white teeth behind bright red lips. "What can I help you with?" Her voice is soothing, calming his agitated nerves. But behind the charm was something else. He recognized it a second later, she looked quite relaxed and yet beneath that was a tension, like a cat ready to pounce on any weakness it sees in its prey. "Yes I am looking for Max Steele, I was informed that he works here." Behind him Devon hears the sighs of his two superiors. The girls smile drops and her eyes slant at him accusingly "Max isn't here, can I ask why you want to see him?" Her tone is edged like a blade, wickedly sharp and deadly. "It is about his time spent working for the government, just a routine check." Trying to make his tone placating. Behind him Nathan pushes him aside and looks at the girl intensely  "Rowan Max Steele we are here to discuss matters in regards to the time you spent in the military. Is there a privet place where we can talk?" The girls gaze turning into molten glare directed at the three of us. Placing her fingers to her lips she lets out a loud piercing whistle. "Time to get out guys!" There is a general grumble from the remaining patrons but they gradually leave. Moving behind them the girl locks the front door. The sound echoing off the walls, a sound of finality. I pull out a chair to a table, the legs screeching against the floor in protest. Sitting down I stare intently at the faded wood, the stains of old drinks spilt, and the gouges from years of wear. I don't look up as the others pull out chairs and sit down, my training seems to have abandoned me. I hadn't been paying attention when Nathan was briefing me on my partner, I should have listened. Max is sitting across from me, her eyes looking more green than blue under the rays of hazy golden sunlight. She looks tired, like she had held the world on her shoulders for just too long. Bags I hadn't noticed before lay heavy beneath her eyes. The happy looking girl from before is gone and before me now sits the highly trained killer. Her gaze turns sharp when she notices me looking at her, the last traces of softness gone, leaving behind a hard exterior. The steel that rang in her next few words shocked me to my very core. "I  am done with the military, I have no reason to return to that life. I gave everything for my country, and when all was said and done they left me there, surrounded by blood of my comrades. So don't get any ideas in your head, don't think that I will return to that life no matter what you say." There was an undercurrent to her words, a raw and indescribable agony. Emotions do you no good, they only trap you binding you to useless things and places. "We aren't part of the government. We are a shadow agency, we are only known by the senator and the president, both of which deny we even exist. You would also cease to exist, your history and any record of you erased." Her face was blank, as if a mirror it only reflected, nothing of her could be seen. "Our agency deals with everything from drug rings to slave trade and everything in between. But more specifically we need you for your skills and abilities, we have received information that the president of Ukraine; Viktor Yanukovych, is going to be assassinated  In the last few years Ukraine's arms export has grown at a tremulous rate, specifically nuclear arms. We believe that someone has put a large cash reward for the death of the president so that they can spark a nuclear war. The president is scheduled to be in the U.S in one week, we believe that this is when he will be executed, this will allow for the blame to be pushed on the U.S resulting in a war we aren't prepared for." I already knew about this, it had been my assignment for the last few weeks and I had done everything in my power to get more information but it seems that there was none. I had come up with the idea that we could get our best sniper to take out the assassin, but our best is currently deep undercover in china. Nathan had found the something even better, never failed an assignment, but the icing on the proverbial cake; the guy was an ex Navy S.E.A.L. The only problem was that the guy we needed had disappeared off the face of the earth after his last mission. We had spent days with our finest guys trying to pull files on him, but we were unsuccessful, until we stumbled on a portfolio with only two sheets. One was a discharge paper, the other a registration sheet. The guy had apparently stolen the rest of the sheets the day he disappeared. We now have a chance of stopping a nuclear war from breaking out and the only thing standing in our way is Max. "You were the top sniper in your division  with forty eight confirmed kills, you were unparalleled in both skill and expertise  That is why we need you. You have a chance to save other people from feeling what you felt the day the government turned its back on you. Don't make the innocent suffer." Nathan always had a way of bending people to his will, he would use any means necessary to get the desired outcome. If it meant manipulating a person he would do it, but he drew the line at petty threats. He was the kind of guy who was born to protect, it's all his kind know. Her eyes blazed at Nathan's words, her lips drawn into a taut line. She would make or break this case. "After this you will leave me alone, you will never come looking for me, any and all information you have on me will be erased. This is my last kill, after this I will never pick up that gun again do you understand?" Her tone was cold, her voice chilling as ice. "Yes we understand no information shall be left behind, as well we will not bother you again. But remember if any information on us is leaked we will not hesitate to kill you." Nathan never threatens people he only makes promises. "Oh and by the way it was forty nine confirmed kills." With a smirk on her face she stands up and walks over to the bar. "When do I start?" A confident smile graces her lips.

Just as Rowan turns to grab a bottle off the back wall behind the counter, it explodes in a colorful shower of glass and alcohol. The room is suddenly peppered with the sound of ricochetting bullets. Jumping behind the bar I reach under the counter for my Jericho 941 semi automatic. Everything seems to slow, I can't take my eyes off of the familiar weapon. I had held this gun the same day I lost her. It falls out of my hands going off in the process, it misses me by a few inches. I am paralyzed, stuck starring at the gun. It looks cold and alien and yet just seconds ago it felt warm and familiar. I am a specially trained sniper who can't even hold a gun any more. A bullet rips through my shoulder, shredding everything in its path, I fall backwards my vision blurring momentarily  At first there is nothing then a searing pain, branding my shoulder. Blood is everywhere, as far as I can tell it hit only muscle, maybe grazing a bone. I am trained to take pain, this is what I know. Breath deep, push it out of your mind, focus on surviving. Groaning in pain I get into a crouched position once again. Over head a bottle shatters in a shower of rum and fragmented glass shards. The shelf behind me creaks and I move to the side only to have a burning hot barrel placed against my temple. Survive. Do not die. Live. Instinct takes over and I attempt to knock the gun from the figure's hand. My attack fails as I feel the base of the gun connect with my temple. Stay awake, that is all that matters. My thoughts start to fragment, crumbling like paper turning to ashes. Blackness starts to shatter the reality, encroaching on my vision. Stay awake long enough together needed information. Thoughts lose meaning, slipping through my fingers like water, elusive to my incoherent mind. A word slices through the air, breaking the dark, and yet it is more terrifying than any blackness. Abbadon.

Perfect By Design

For my English class I must write a descriptive piece on my bedroom , so enjoy.

Her bedroom is perfect by design. She had picked out a warm color pallet full of deep, rich tones and brilliant accents. She had been given fairly free reign by her parents and long as her mother approved she was allowed to do whatever she wanted. In the far left corner running parallel with the wall to her left is a wrought iron daybed. The daybeds frame was black ivy in intricate swirls curling and twisting prettily. The daybed showcases a large bed covered in fluffy quilts in chocolate browns with gold-bronze patterns adorning the edges in a complex spiderweb of ivy. The pillows are beautiful, mostly cream colored with some displaying caramel colored ivy climbing like lattice work all around the bed. The pillows give of the mixed scent of her sweet peach shampoo and the thick heady scent of Morona shea butter cream. One of her favourite things to do is to sit on her bed drinking a mug of hot cocoa while reading a book and listening to her favourite songs. The girl had tried to keep the warm color pallet in mind when she designed and painted the walls but she had watched to many episodes of 'Candice Tells All' to even consider painting all four walls a dark brown. She found her solution by painting the far wall from the door a deep, rich, enticing brown similar to the color of the quilts. The rest of the walls she painted a cream color to lighten up the room. The far accent wall also bears a large window, she embellished with a set of shimmery chocolate brown chiffon curtains with gold ivy embroidery. The curtains are constantly fluttering for the windows are always open even in the winter, in the summer the room is constantly filled with the scent of freshly cut grass and in the winter a brisk refreshing breeze fills the room with it's subtle crisp scent. In the far right corner from the door is a desk, stained a caramel brown with honey highlights. The desk is covered in various art supplies from painting, to sculpting and everything in between. Drawings, sculptures, paintings all litter the desk some in various states of completion, covering every square inch of the desk. The wall to the right of the door has a closet, fairly big and filled with shelving units she uses to store the rest of her art supplies and books. There are very few things actually hanging in the closet only a few blouses and two dresses. One is a modest floor length midnight blue chiffon evening dress. The other a deep purple evening dress with a fluttery black top. She wasn't very fond of dresses at all but she understood that there were just some events where one must dress with more class than just her favourite jeans and band tee shirt. In her room on the same wall as the door is a large dresser the same caramel color as the desk the knobs a gold-bronze. Just like the desk it is covered
in an assortment of art pieces and books. On the accent wall under the window is a vanity table and a small, white, round ottoman to sit on. The vanity table is littered with an assortment of eye make ups, blushes, and lip sticks, but mostly eye make up. She would always do her eyes in exotic styles and create her own designs based off of vogue magazines. Though she is not very feminine she has a passion for make up, mostly because it is just another style of art except instead of painting a canvas you are painting your eyes.  Every nook and cranny in the room is filled with towering stacks of books in a kaleidoscope of genres, from fiction to horror and everything in between, everything except mysteries, she never had any real patience for mysteries too much dodging around the point.  The light in the centre of the room was also her design, it has a light bulb at the centre  surrounded by a ball of mirrors sending flashes of light everywhere. The room is absolutely perfect and it was all by her design.

Titania A Midsummer Nights Dream pt1

I chose Charlize Theron to play as Titania. I chose her because Charlize Theron has often done movies in which her character is a queen, this means she can act with grace and dignity. Charlize also has a sweet smile and charming air and I feel that this would be like Titania's softer side. As well Charlize has a powerful stage presence that pulls your gaze and makes you still your breath in anticipation of what she will say next. Charlize is as well a passionate actress and this can be seen in movies like Snow White And The Huntsman where she stole the audiences breathe away with her incredible rendition of the Evil Queen. A quote that I feel shows the passionate will of Titania is in the scene where she is arguing with Oberon and she brazenly says "Not for thy fairy kingdom. Fairies, away! We shall chide downright, if I longer stay." But as well both Titannia and Charlize can be anguished characters that you feel so touched, by the mere thought of their grief.  These are the reasons why I chose Charlize Theron to portray Titania.

Puck A Midsummer Nights Dream pt 3

For the character of Puck I chose to have Alicia Beth Moore portray the impish fairy. Alicia otherwise known as Pink is perfect for the role of Puck because both have many things in common like their need to make trouble. I also feel that having Puck portrayed as a woman would spice it up from the norm and make things more interesting. Pink is a fun loving, adorable, feisty  and can be very wicked at times much like the character of Puck you can't help but love him/her. A quote that I feel shows some similarities between these twos personalities would be when Puck is speaking to a fairy of Tiania's court and says

"And sometime lurk I in a gossip's bowl, In very likeness of  a roasted crab, And when she drinks, against her lips I bob And on her wither'd dewlap pour the ale. The wisest aunt, telling the saddest tale, Sometime for three-foot stool mistaketh me; Then I slip from her bum, down topples she, And 'tailor' cries, and falls into a cough; And then the whole quire hold their hips and laugh, And waxen in their mirth and neeze and swear A merrier hour was never wasted there."

This shows that Puck is a very sly fairy who takes enjoyment from pulling tricks on others. And Pink is much the same way she is said to often pull tricks on co-actors before a shooting or when they are relaxing after a long day of filming. These are the reasons why I feel that Pink would make a splendid Puck.

Helena A Midsummer Nights Dream pt 2

I chose to portray Helena as the actress Amanda Seyfried. I did this because Amanda has the same love struck characteristics as Helena, and she has played many roles in which she is in a relationship with someone who does not reciprocate her feelings. Another reason why I feel that Amanda would be perfect for the role is that she looks not beautiful but rather she is cute. Amanda is also a bit of an exuberant actress and can be very emotional at times this is very similar to Helena's character as well. A quote that I feel shows how they can be similar in the sense of unrequited love would be the scene where Helena and Demetrius are first entering the forest in search of Hermia and Lysander Helena says "You draw me, you hard-hearted adamant; But yet you draw not iron, for my heart is true as steel: leave you your power to draw, And I shall have no power to follow you." (II.I.570-574) This shows that Helena wont give up even though she is aware that Demetrius does not love her back. Amanda has had her share of sad love stories like in the movie Dear John when Amanda plays a young woman who falls for a soldier on leave from the military, the story revolves around the letters they send to each other after he is deployed. Those were the reasons why I felt that Amanda Seyfried would make an excellent Helena.

My Least Favorite Books

   1) Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver trilogy.
Reasons: The lead female character is bland and depressing, the reader finds out very early in the novel that this Grace has severe issues psychologically. Grace falls in love with a wolf after it and a whole pack attack her in the woods behind her house, she doesn't even know that they are where wolves. Grace then magically falls in love with Sam the lead male character and said wolf within a few days. Sam has some also very disturbing issues considering he stalks Grace while he spends his summer's as a human and watches her from the woods behind her house in the winter while he is a wolf. If that isn't enough Sam also has family issues just like Grace, and he is the woman of the relationship. I have no problem with male characters who are slightly sensitive or shy but Sam is just pathetic, all the chapters set in his perspective sound like some drama queen teenage girl who constantly dotes on their partner to make sure that they never leave. I can say I gave the author a fair shot I did read the first two boos in the series but after that the plot started to crumble and I was unable to bear this monstrosity any longer.

  2) Ally Condie's Matched trilogy.

Reasons: The first book in this series starts off by dumping you head first into a world that is strikingly similar to The Giver's, we are then left to listen to the droning monologue of the lead female character; Cassia. Like all other novels that feature a girl who must choose between two boys, Cassia does the cliche by choosing the 'mysterious boy'. Rather than spend the rest of her life happy with her best friend/future intended; Xander, Cassia picks the aberration boy Ky. Forbidden love all around! There was a huge plot hole that also surfaced immediately and that would be, that nobody in the unnamed town can write except Ky. They can all read, type, speak, and yet none of them can write, this has got to be the biggest plot hole I have ever encountered. The pacing of this book was also extremely slow. This book was interspersed with nuggets of emotion but otherwise was robotic and bland. The only good thing about Cassia is that she is not a mary sue and later develops into a strong personality type. All books need to have some basic parts to the plot; beginning, middle, climax, and an end. This book has no climax, that is sad and pathetic this entire book is fueled by Cassia's romance. I did try to read the second book but it was too much for me and I gave up after 15 chapters.

Gavriel Duval vs. Oberon Of The Winter Court

In this post I must compare a novel I have read with Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Nights Dream. I have chosen two characters with equal arrogance and haughty disposition; Gavriel Duval and Oberon Of The Winter Court. Gavriel who wears his pride like a shiny black armor and Oberon who stands with the chilling grace of a winter wind both are remote and disdainful creatures.

Gavriel who stalks through the High Court Of Brittany with purpose and dignity, his head held high for all the world to see. Oberon who reigns over the Winter Court, never to acknowledge those of a lesser status. With both men everything revolves around power and status.

Oberon cares for no one but himself whereas Gavriel cares deeply for his half sister the Duchess. Gavriel also has strong emotions of hatred versus Oberon who seems to not care about others either way, others are below him. The only one Oberon seems to have strong feelings for is his Wife Titania whom he seems to have a complex relationship with, at times he can hate her and at others he seems to almost love her.

These two are very similar in the sense that they both can have very passionate personalities, as well if either is dealt insult they do not hesitate to retaliate with equal ferocity. Also they both can be vindictive and are not above revenge.

Both are a lot alike but they are also different, Gavriel is not as manipulative as Oberon for one and second of all Oberon would never deign to waste his time with mortals.

A Series of Not-So-Fortunate Events

This spring break I shall indulge myself to the utmost extent of my abilities. I am going to spend my break, albeit a short one, doing the things I love. I plan on checking off at least nine books on my to read list, Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning being at the top of the list. I intend to produce at least 13 drawings per day, some of which might be paintings. I also intend to sleep for unnaturally long periods of time, and for most of my break.

A slightly odd event which shall take place over my break is the unusual ritual that many females seem to do; a sleepover. This is odd for me due to the fact that I am very much a tomboy and due to that I am rarely invited to such events. Or maybe it is my acerbic personality, never the matter this will prove to be an interesting event.

As well I feel as though I aught to mention the very obvious and very sad fact that I am not going away for my too short break. For those of you who have heard of Manitoba you may have heard of some of the particularly nasty weather we tend to get even in Summer. It is currently in the range of -20 to -5, the temperature dropping in the mornings and heating up only a little in the afternoons before dropping back down to ridiculous temperatures even for this time of year. As it would seem I am to suffer for quite a bit longer, nearly all of the tolerable people which I am acquainted with all seem to be going to places that are currently sitting at +30 or above.

I am most looking forward to a lack of school work which accompanies every other week of my life. Yay for me! (For those of you who know me you read that in a highly sarcastic tone, and envisioned me waving a small flag rather drearily.)

I feel like this picture best represents me on my brief break from the joy that is high school. I plan on making the most of my break by being as pleasant as this here feline would appear to be. But I also feel like it might resemble a Cyanide and Happiness comic, probably exactly like the below one.

The fat guy, that's me. I am going to spend the break trying to reach for that cupcake. Metaphorically speaking of course, that cupcake is relaxation. I always intend to relax and enjoy any and all free time I may have but usually the drama of those around me makes that impossible. So like the fat guy I will end up unhappy and needing an industrial crane lift to pull me out of the floor/pile of drama. That guy in green is life metaphorically speaking once again and he is obviously enjoying every minuet of my/fat guys misery.

No Mercy

No Mercy is a thrilling novel that keeps you trapped withing its pages, the words swirling around you, intoxicating. The plot, the characters, everything about this book is amazing. I cannot decide what part is my favorite, the intricate text work and design, or the depth of the individual characters. So I'll start by saying this is the best series I have had the pleasure of reading, every book hooks me more and this just continues to pull me deeper into the dark wonderful world that Sherrilyn Kenyon has created.

Deveraux Peltier is handsome, strong, and his dry sense of humor leaves people gasping for breath and clutching their stomachs. Samia is dangerous, intelligent, and gorgeous.s.

Sam has lived by the Amazon creed her entire life, she even died by it. Live fast, fight hard and if you have to die then take as many of your enemies with you as you can. Sam is now an immortal being and she protects the mortals from the evil that lurks around every corner. Dev is a shapeshifter, a guard dog- or rather bear for the local bar and grill; Sanctuary. He has been a bouncer for almost 200 years and has locked horns with almost every creature out there, then he came across the most deadly of all.

Samia comes hurtling into Dev's life at top speed literally and Dev is left stunned by this woman who even demons fear. Together they have to face the deadliest opponent of all, Daimons who walk in daylight, and the great Atlantean Destroyer Apollymi.

If the characters weren't perfect enough the addictive action keeps your heart beating fast. Once and Amazon, Sam became a Dark Hunter with the help of the Greek goddess Artemis and moved up through the ranks until she could smash skulls alongside the strongest warriors. Sam is no weakling who needs to be protected by some hot headed man she kicks butt all by herself, and she has a knack for finding trouble. She will fight any monster that gets in the way of saving the people she loves. Dev will walk through hell just to save Sam and to protect her. The fight scenes in this novel get your blood pounding and keep you from putting this book down for even a second.

All in all I love everything about this book and I recommend it to anyone who has any interest in mythology, action, adventure, or romance.

Dark Visions Character Sketch pt 2

This book is a romance with a dash of action, a sprinkle of intrigue, and a dozen pounds of drama. The center of all this is Kaitlyn Fairchild a moody teenage girl with psychic powers.

Throughout her childhood Kaitlyn was accused of being a witch for her visions: obscure visions that foretold of events. Ostracized by her peers Kaitlyn became shuttered and emotionless, unable to interact with others. Years later she's the same with an unnatural aversion to the male population, she suffers through high school. After she is brought to the Zetes Institute Kaitlyn finds herself enamored with a boy for the first time. She used to be calm and collected and now shes flustered and looking anything but put together.

Perturbed over the kind boy with a southern drawl Kaitlyn is not ready to meet a delinquent with intense eyes and a broken past. Angered by the dark haired Gabriel, Kaitlyn is terrified of the enigmatic criminal. As the book progresses Kaitlyn's animosity towards Gabriel fades to an antagonistic annoyance. Meanwhile Kaitlyn's feelings toward Rob get more and more confused, her and Rob are now the perfect couple happy in every way, the only thing that stands in their way is rapidly changing circumstances and a killer looking for forgiveness.

When she is captured and held prisoner in an isolation tank her only hope is Gabriel, his thoughts and memories are the only link to reality that she has. To make sure he can stay telepathically connected to her he knows the bond will work better when hes in pain, so he burns his arm and cuts it open, poking at the sores to keep the bond strong even when exhaustion threatens to overwhelm him. While connected telepathically they can see everything about each other and what Kaitlyn sees both shocks and amazes her; he loves her more than he cares for his own life, and he would crawl belly over broken glass just to make her smile. Gabriel realizes something even more surprising; the girl he loves returns those feelings. And though Kaitlyn still loves Rob she realizes that she cares for him like a brother, and nothing more.

Kaitlyn has smokey blue eyes like no one else, hair like autumn-fire, and her body build is slight and slim like a willow, with Irish cream skin to complete her looks.

Kaitlyn is strong willed, introverted, though she can be kind at times, she is also known to use her odd eyes as weapons against others. She can be harsh and quiet but shes devoted and can be very friendly.

Kind of what I imagine her to look like but her hair is longer.

Dark Visions pt 3 Settings

The novel Dark Visions takes place in many locations starting with Kaitlyn's hometown in Ohio, then following her to San Carlos California where the Zetes Institute is located. Next up her and her group travel up along the west cost from California all the way to Vancouver Island where the group meets up with The Fellowship.

This novel is set around roughly 2009 though it has no official dates or times in the novel itself.

The location of this book reminds me of a trip I took to parts of the east coast in Canada both sides of Canada have valleys and thick green forests, plus all the alcoves that they mention sounds like the outskirts of the coast.

And I would describe the circumstances but I think I'v made those very clear.

Today I have to do a piece for my English class in which I must make a connection between a theme, character, or plot idea and myself. The novel I will be using is called Grave Mercy. My connection is to the lead character Ismae, an assassin for the god of death St. Mortain, though I am no assassin I feel a connection to this heroin for one reason in particular, she is not a Mary Sue. Almost every lead female character of our generation is a Mary Sue, a completely useless character that waits to be saved by a boy. Ismae on the other hand is a break from the norm as it stands she is a breath of fresh air. After overcoming a horrible ordeal at the age of 14 she is whisked away to take refuge in a convent of the god of death St. Mortain, rather than weep and become an emotional wreck she chooses to become an assassin for her new lord and god. Three hard years later she is an entirely new person, no longer a weak girl she is now a strong vibrant woman.

If I was in her position I would have made all the same choices, because I feel like our personalities are somewhat similar. I would choose to move on like she did, as well if I was given the option of serving the death god himself I wouldn't hesitate to say yes. Another common trait that we have would be that we both would rather think things through than react with pure emotion guiding us. And probably the most obvious thing we have in common would be our stubborn personalities, neither of us will give ground once we dig our heels in. I love this heroin more than most of the others because I feel like I can connect with this easily infuriated girl.

So to wrap this up, I feel like Ismae and I are very close in personality and in the way that we think. As well I believe it was a pleasure getting to read about this impressive character and I would love to see more like her. Strong willed and with a temper to boot she is my ideal connection to a character.

Mascot

I'm going to be designing a character for my blog and will be posting it within the next few days I would really appreciate it if you would take a look and give me some feedback on whether you like it or not and or maybe what I could change to make it better.

All About Me

Likes: Reading, writing, art, music, mythology, camping, going to restaurants, writing book reviews (Good reads website), being right, Disney  psychology, biology, chemistry, anime, animals, movies, geography, learning about foreign cultures and beliefs, discovery channel, drama, and the colors purple, black, silver, gold, and green.

Dislikes: Listening to other people read aloud (It truly is a form of punishment), people of low morals and values, giving up, the color pink, not getting my way, cleaning, the hunger games, Maggie Stiefvater's book trilogy shiver, restrictions, and math (Nobody likes math)

Appearance: Pink hair, orange eyes, devil horns, 6'2, 150 lbs. fangs, and a little devil tail. I'm most often seen wearing a short black dress with a black choker necklace and black gloves. (If you believe this then you're the reason I have no faith in the intelligence of our generation.)

Hobbies: Reading, writing, camping, reviewing books, drawing, painting, sculpting, listening to music, hanging out with my friends.

A few words to describe me: Artistic,  creative, dependable, impulsive, intelligent, confident, determined, energetic, exuberant, aggressive  brave, tough, bad tempered, devious, quick, mature, serious, loud, and amazing. (Other people gave me these words, I didn't make this up... except for the last one, but it's true so I don't see a problem with it.)

Things you should know about me:

  • I'm not conceited, because conceition is a fault and I don't have any.
  • I have an over abundance of confidence interspersed with flashes of insecurity
  • I'm obnoxious but not overbearingly so.
  • Yes there is a hyphen in anal-retentive, it all depends on how you use the word in a sentence.
  • I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minuet of it.
  • I love my six pack so much I hide it under a layer of fat...or two...or ten.

Dark Visions Summery pt 1

The novel Dark Visions is based on a 17 year old girl named Kaitlyn Fairchild, the local witch in her small

hometown. Her drawings all come true but she as no way to control or harness her powers, until she is

approached by a woman asking her to join an institution for psychics. Weary of leaving her dad Kaitlyn is

only swayed by the prospect of one thing, a free scholarship to the collage of her choice. At the notorious

Zetes Institute Kaitlyn meets different psychics but out of the four two catch her eye. Gabriel, the dark one

with a mysterious past, rumor is that he killed a girl and now he's being allowed on probation to stay at he

Institute. Rob, a perfect boy with one flaw, he doesn't know how to love a girl, after an accident that should

have ended his life he came away with amazing healing powers, but now he is unable to see a girl in any way

other than as a friend. The five psychic teens are struggling to adapt to the Institutes strange ways and each

other, but is the Zetes Institute all that it seems? Tensions are building between Rob and Gabriel who happen

to share a past. Kat is caught between to mesmerizing boys, complete opposites but both catch her attention

and don't seem to let go. As new clues start to pile up, they all seem to lead to the same conclusion, can Mr.

Zetes be trusted? Through the betrayals and the lies will these five teens find their way? Will it be one of their

own that ends up being the biggest enemy? But most importantly who will be the one to steal Kat's heart? An

angel or a demon? The story promises to be interesting but I have my reservations, I do not expect much of

this novel based solely on the plot. This plot line is very common so I really want to see if this book can raise

the bar and manage to stand out among other novels without becoming redundant.
